Uitsig Motors were founded in 1964 by Mathyssen and Badenhorst at the foot of the Langeberg Mountain in Swellendam Western Cape. Later Oom Japie Badenhorst took over and in 1984 Tokkie & Nettie Roux moved here with their family and bought Uitsig Motors from him. At the time, it was only the main business building with few unoccupied buildings on site. This included a small house. The house was renovated and due to some unforeseen glitch, building was delayed. Business has to go on. So the family had to settle in a caravan for a few months till new plans were approved and building could get underway.
Today Uitsig Motors Engen is owned by Nettie Roux after Tokkie Roux passed away in January 2010. The day to day operations are taken care of by the two brothers Johan & Wouter Roux while Danette Roux oversees the financials. Truly a family business!
We have great neighbours in Cooper Street which businesses compliments that of Uitsig Motors: Hi-Q tyres, Heinz Auto Electrical, Lawnmower Services, Liquor Store & Tredici Restaurant – now famous.
We are located opposite the Argricultural showgrounds of Swellendam – a very convenient location for any visitor to the many events of Swellendam.
